Phone A Friend is a weekly Trans Health HQ series that answers the community’s questions about gender-affirming care.

Phone A Friend launched on Instagram in August 2026. Each week, the series picks one anonymous question sent in through a story question box or DMs and answers it in depth, using community knowledge and the 5,000+ resources in the Trans Health HQ Access and Info Hub. Questions cover hormones, surgery recovery, coming out, dating, family, and day-to-day life as a trans person, including the side effects and timelines that doctors often don’t walk people through. The goal is to give viewers a knowledgeable friend to check with, so no question feels too small or too awkward to ask. Episodes are presented by peer health educators, and every answer points viewers back to their own providers for medical decisions.
